A letter from our Mågas
Håfa adai!
Thank you for stopping by to hear about this amazing Guma. I founded Bailadora in March of 2024 with just my sisters and cousins. Fast forward to today, Bailadora has flourished into so much more than I could have imagined! We have traveled to California on multiple occasions to be part of Guma San’ Lagu for Lålai and PIFA. We have volunteered with Lend a Hand in food drives, their first annual Youth Expo event, and many more community opportunities. We are officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and aim to give back to our community in many ways. My purpose is to be a safe space for my CHamoru people and those not of CHamoru descent who want to learn about the culture I am so proud to be part of. I am also still learning every day, and remind my dancers and drummers that. I can’t speak fluent CHamoru, but I have come to learn I am able to understand it more through song, chant, and dance. Come join me and let’s have a fun time! <3
